Description
These ultra-crispy onion rings are filled with gooey, stretchy mozzarella cheese and served hot with pizza sauce for dipping.

- 2 large white or yellow onions
- 8 oz mozzarella cheese, cut into sticks
- ½ cup pizza sauce or marinara
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tbsp milk
- 1½ cups seasoned breadcrumbs (or panko)
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- Vegetable oil, for frying (or air fryer spray)
Instructions
- Slice onions into thick rings and separate.
- Sandwich mozzarella sticks between two onion rings; freeze 30 minutes.
- Set up breading stations: flour → eggs + milk → breadcrumbs mixed with Parmesan and seasonings.
- Bread stuffed rings thoroughly.
- Fry at 350°F (175°C) for 2–3 minutes per side until golden (or air fry at 400°F / 205°C for 8–10 min).
- Serve hot with pizza sauce for dipping.
