Description

Deliciously soft and rich mini chocolate donuts, perfect for a sweet treat.


Ingredients

  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 large egg
  • ½ cup buttermilk
  • ¼ cup vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup mini chocolate chips
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 23 tablespoons milk
  • ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a mini donut pan.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, mix egg, buttermilk, vegetable oil, and vanilla until smooth.
  4. Combine wet and dry ingredients; fold in mini chocolate chips.
  5. Fill the donut pan cavities about ¾ full with batter.
  6. Bake for 8-10 minutes; let cool on a wire rack.
  7. For the glaze: whisk powdered sugar, cocoa powder, milk (adjust as needed), and vanilla until smooth.
  8. Dip cooled donuts into glaze and allow to set.

Notes

  • These donuts are best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in an airtight container for a couple of days.
