- 1 bag (10 oz / 280 g) large marshmallows
- 1 cup (125 g) all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 pinch salt
- ¾ cup (180 ml) milk
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Oil for frying (vegetable or canola)
- Powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- Freeze marshmallows for at least 30–45 minutes (helps prevent melting too fast).
- In a bowl, whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Add milk, egg, and vanilla. Mix until smooth batter forms.
- Heat oil in a deep pot to 175°C (350°F).
- Dip each frozen marshmallow in batter, coating fully.
- Fry 3–4 at a time for about 30–45 seconds, until golden brown.
- Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
- Dust with powdered sugar and serve immediately.
Notes
- Ensure the oil is hot enough before frying to achieve a crispy exterior.
- Experiment with different flavored extracts for a twist!
