Description
Delicious meat cakes with a molten cheese center.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb (450 g) ground beef (80/20)
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp onion powder
- 4 cubes (about 1 oz / 28 g each) cheddar cheese (or American cheese for extra melt)
- 1½ cups (170 g) shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 tbsp ketchup
- 1 tbsp mayonnaise
- 1 tsp mustard
Instructions
- Season ground beef and divide into 8 equal patties.
- Place a cheese cube in the center of 4 patties, top with remaining patties, and seal edges tightly into thick rounds.
- Press shredded cheddar all around the outside of each meat “cake.”
- Bake at 400°F (205°C) for 18–22 minutes until browned and molten inside.
- Rest 2 minutes, cut open, and let the cheese lava flow.
