Description

This One-Pan Tangy Honey BBQ Chicken Penne is a delightful blend of flavors and textures, perfect for a quick and satisfying meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups penne pasta
  • 2 cups cooked chicken breast, diced
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley

Instructions

  1. Start by heating olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. As the oil warms, add the minced garlic and let it gently sizzle.
  2. Next, stir in the diced chicken. If you’re using leftover chicken, this is where it gets a second life, soaking up all the flavors to come. Sprinkle in paprika, onion powder, salt, and pepper, letting the spices coat the chicken evenly.
  3. Pour in the chicken broth, barbecue sauce, and honey. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer.
  4. Add the penne pasta directly into the pan. Stir well so the pasta is submerged and coated. Cover and let it cook, stirring occasionally, until the pasta becomes tender and absorbs much of the sauce.
  5. Once the pasta is cooked, lower the heat and pour in the heavy cream. Stir slowly, watching the sauce turn silky and rich. Add the shredded cheddar cheese and mix until melted and smooth.
  6. Finish with a sprinkle of fresh parsley for a pop of color and freshness. Serve warm, straight from the pan.
