Description
A delicious homemade syrup made from ripe bananas and pure maple syrup, perfect for pancakes or waffles.
Ingredients

- 2 ripe bananas (mashed, about 2 cups)
- 1/2 cup pure maple syrup (can sub honey, agave, sugar or coconut sugar)
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp vanilla extract (or 1 tbsp vanilla bean paste)
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, combine the mashed banana, maple syrup, water, cinnamon, and salt.
- Bring to a gentle simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally, for about 5–7 minutes until thickened slightly.
- Remove from heat and stir in vanilla.
- Let cool slightly, then strain through a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth for a smooth syrup.
- Store in the fridge for up to 5 days.
Notes
- This syrup can be used as a topping for pancakes, waffles, or oatmeal.
- Adjust sweetness by adding more or less maple syrup based on your preference.
